Machine gives new Meaning to long-run roofing iron

In a first for Gisborne, staff at Character Roofing have been given a helping hand with one of their biggest jobs, thanks to a mobile roofing machine.
The portable machine, from Metalcraft, helped staff roll out 27 metre roofing panels to go on the new CPS building at Aerodrome Road Business
Park. “This is the first time this has been done in Gisborne,” Character Roofing director Pete Claffey said. “The advantage of an on-site roll former is
the ability run long lengths without the issue of transporting them or redesigning the building with steps in the roof to combat the issue.
“This truck travels the country running out commercial roofs on site to whatever length the customer requires. “In this case, the sheets are 27.300m but they
have run lengths up to 72m from this machine.”
